DescriptionDescription of practice
Life Aid Leoben is a non-profit organization offering a wide range of services for people with disabilities. It was founded in 1979 as a parent’s self-help group and has developed into a modern service provider based in the city of Leoben in the Austrian province of Styria. Currently, about 55 people with disability are supported through the workshops of the Life Aid Leoben and 30 people with disabilities through assisted living.
The organization’s central aim is to adequately take into account the individual interests and needs of their customers. In order to ensure need-oriented and transparent processes, the three Styrian Life Aid organisations of Leoben, Bruck an der Mur and Ennstal have already initiated a joint CAF self-assessment process in 2013. The main results of the process were an analytical framework customized for organisations for the provision of assistance to people with disabilities and management quality standards.
In 2019, Life Aid Leoben subjected themselves to the CAF self-assessment processes a second time, striving for internal improvements in quality management. The process was supervised by the Center for Public Administration Research (KDZ) and resulted in the development of the CAF Action Plan.
